Gut & digestive health nutritionist in Adelaide — Feel more comfortable, understand your gut and find an approach that works for you
Digestive symptoms can affect far more than your stomach. Bloating, irregular bowel habits, discomfort and food reactions can influence your energy, confidence, eating habits and everyday quality of life. At Aster for Health, we take the time to understand the bigger picture. Your symptoms, eating patterns, lifestyle, health history, medications, stress and available pathology can all provide valuable pieces of information.
Together, we’ll develop practical, personalised nutrition strategies designed to support your digestive health — without unnecessarily restrictive diets or one-size-fits-all meal plans.
Gut health support tailored to you
Digestive concerns can have many contributing factors, which is why simply removing more and more foods isn’t always the answer.
Nutrition support may be helpful if you’re experiencing:
- Bloating or excessive gas
- Constipation or diarrhoea
- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- Changes in bowel habits
- Abdominal discomfort
- Food intolerances or sensitivities
- Reflux or digestive discomfort
- Difficulty identifying food triggers
- Concerns about gut or microbiome health
- Nutrient deficiencies associated with a restricted diet
- Ongoing digestive symptoms alongside other health concerns
Rather than focusing on a single symptom, we’ll look at your overall health and nutrition to determine where practical changes may be most helpful.
Gut health is about more than food. We look at the bigger picture to understand what may be influencing your symptoms and create practical, sustainable strategies that fit your life.
A bigger-picture approach to gut health
Your digestive health doesn’t exist in isolation. Depending on your individual circumstances, we may explore your food intake, fibre and plant diversity, hydration, eating patterns, stress, sleep, movement, medications, supplements, health history and existing pathology.
Where appropriate, we can also discuss whether further pathology or functional testing may be useful. The aim isn’t to create the “perfect diet”. It’s to help you better understand your body and develop sustainable strategies that fit into your everyday life.
What happens at your first appointment?
Your initial 90-minute consultation gives us time to explore your health properly. We’ll discuss your current concerns and symptoms, health and family history, typical food intake, lifestyle, medications and supplements, previous approaches you’ve tried, and any relevant pathology results. From there, we’ll establish your priorities and create a personalised nutrition plan with realistic steps you can actually implement.
